Gardens and Gardening

Now that we have a huge yard and a landlord that is ok with gardening I am ready to go. I love, love, love me a potager garden so of course that is the plan. A potager garden is basically a French garden that combines food and flowers. Over here we call them kitchen gardens, but potager sounds so much better.

So i have spent every extra second today online looking for potager ideas and I found the perfect plans! For free! W00t!

How to Build a Kitchen Garden

I am going to do the 4x4 beds because, you know, I know nothing about gardening. It is going in the back yard, as soon as I find a nice sunny spot.

There is also a spot right next to the kitchen door steps that I am going to turn into a mini-potager. I have no idea how big it is, but I am guessing 3x3? Of course, it is probably nowhere near that size.

If my camera hadn't decided to quit working, I would take a picture of the front of the house and show you what I am planning to do there. Basically I am going to wake a wavy border like Jeannine's (for those of you who know Jeannine) and possibly line the walkway with a wavy border. We will see how many plants I can get my hands on!

Congrats on the house! Sounds great--especially the four bedrooms. What will you all do with so much space? lol
Thanks for the link to the gardens; this gave me some new ideas for my annual Square-Foot garden. Can't wait for May!

Thanks Cindy!
I will post pictures tomorrow. I have to have Christian take them off of my phone. lol

I am so excited to be able to garden again! In Detroit I didn't do much because I didn't want to eat up the already tiny yard. This back yard is huge!
